# What are the three states of matter?

Matter is anything that has **mass **and takes up **space**. Everything around us is matter like Food, Water, Cloth, including air.

Following are the three basic states of Matter:

• Solid

• Liquid

• Gas

The matter is made up of very small tiny particles.

Particles of matter have space between them they attract each other.

• The particles of matter are very, very small.

• The particles of matter have space between them.

• The particles of matter are constantly moving.

• The particles of matter attract each other.
