What are the differences between regular and irregular reflection of light? Explain with suitable examples.

 In regular reflection, all the light that falls on the reflecting surface is reflected in a definite direction. It takes place on a smooth highly polished surface. Example of regular reflection.

Seeing our image in a plain mirror. The appearance of shoes as shiny after polishing

In irregular reflection, all the light that falls on the reflecting surface is not reflected in a definite direction. It takes place on a rough and uneven surface. Irregular reflection occurs when parallel rays of light are incident on an irregular or rough surface and after reflection emerges in different directions. Example of irregular reflection;

An object is visible to the observer's eye only because of diffused or irregular reflection
