What are Prime and Composite Numbers?


Prime Numbers:

Numbers that have only two factors (are perfectly divisible by only two numbers) i.e. one and itself.

For example, 5 is a prime number as 5 has only two factors, 1 and 5. 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17....and so on.


Composite numbers are those numbers that are NOT prime numbers. These numbers have three or more factors which include 1 as well.

Example- 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 15, 18, 21....and so on
