What are plant tissues and animal tissues?
The word "tissue" derives from the French word "tissu", which means something that is "woven".
Tissues are groups of cells that have a similar structure that acts together to perform a specific function.
The organs are formed by grouping together of multiple tissues according to their function.
1. Animal tissue- is a group of cells with similar functions connected to one another. The structure, function, and origin of different tissues vary from each other.
There are 'four' different types of tissues found in animal:
1. Connective Tissue
2. Muscle Tissue
3. Nervous Tissue, and
4. Epithelial Tissue
2. Plant tissue- is a group of similar cells performing an organized function for the plant. Each plant tissue is specialized for a unique purpose and can be combined with other tissues to create organs such as roots, stems, leaves, and flowers.
There are 'three' different types of tissues found in plants:
1. Vascular Tissue
2. Ground Tissue, and
3. Epidermal Tissue
