What are parallel lines and intersecting lines?

Parallel lines :

  •  In geometry, parallel lines can be defined as two lines in the same plane that are at equal distance from each other and never meet.
  • Parallel lines are represented with a pair of vertical lines between the names of the lines, such as AB | | CD.

  • In the given figure, the length of the line segments does not matter as long as the distance between them remains constant.
  • The given line segments are parallel to each other.

Intersecting lines:

  • When two or more lines cross each other, they are called intersecting lines.
  • The intersecting lines share a common point, which lies on all the intersecting lines, and is called the point of intersection.
  • Distance between the lines will be changing constantly.
