What are factors and multiples?
Factor and Multiples
Factors are numbers which, when multiplied together, produce a given number.
For example, 2 and 6 are factors of the number 12, because 2 and 6, when multiplied together produce 12.
Number 12 has many factors:
3 , 4 are also factors of 12 because 3 $\times$ 4 = 12
2, 2, 3 are also factors of 12 because 2$\times$2$\times$3 = 12
A multiple of a number is that number multiplied by an integer
For example, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 are multiples of 2.
To get these numbers, you multiplied 2 by 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, which are integers.
