What are equivalent fractions?

Equivalent fractions:

Equivalent fractions are the fractions that have different numerators and denominators but are equal to the same value.

For example,

$\frac{2}{4}$ and $\frac{3}{6}$ both are equal to $\frac{1}{2}$, hence they are equivalent in nature.

Similarly $\frac{1}{3}$ and $\frac{2}{6}$ are equivalent.

Equivalent fractions of $\frac{250}{400}$ are $\frac{125}{200}$, $\frac{10}{16}$, $\frac{5}{8}$ etc.
