What are Endemic Species?

Endemic Species are plant and animal species that are found in just one particular region and nowhere else in the world. 

Some examples of animals that are endemic to India are- 

1. Asiatic Lion, Gir Forest, Gujarat.

2. Sangai Deer, Loktak Lake

3. Lion Tailed Macaque, Western Ghats

4. Kashmir Stag, Kashmir Valley

5. Nilgiri Tahr, Nilgiri Hills

6. Purple Frog, Western Ghats

7. Pygmy Hog, Assam
