Water freezes at 0°C and boils at 100°C. Give these temperatures in °F
Given that water freezes at 0°C and boils at 100°C.
To find these temperatures in °F.
Solution:
The formula to convert temperatures in degrees Celsius to degrees Fahrenheit is
F = $C\times \frac{9}{5} + 32$
So 0°C in degrees Fahrenheit is
F = $0\times \frac{9}{5} + 32$
= $0 + 32$ = $32$
So, 0°C = 32°F
100°C in degrees Fahrenheit is
F = $100\times \frac{9}{5} + 32$
= $180 + 32$ =$212$
So, 100°C = 212°F
