Using square root table, find the square roots of the following:
13.21

Given:

Given number is 13.21.

To do:

We have to find the square root of the given number using square root table.

Solution:

From the square root table, we find that,

$\sqrt{13.21}$ lies between $\sqrt{13}$ and $\sqrt{14}$ i.e., 3.606 and 3.742

Difference between $\sqrt{14}$ and $\sqrt{13}=3.742-3.606$

$=0.136$

Difference between 13 and 14 $=1$

For the difference of 1, the difference in the values of the square roots is $0.136$.

This implies,

For the difference of 0.21, the difference in the values of the square roots  $=0.136\times0.21$

$=0.02856$

Therefore,

$\sqrt{13.21}=3.606+0.029$

$=3.635$

Therefore, the square root of $13.21$ is 3.635.
