Usha swims in a 90 m long pool. She covers 180 m in one minute by swimming from one end to the other and back along the same straight path. Find the average speed and average velocity of Usha.

Given,
Length of the pool = 90m
Time taken = 1m = 60sec (converted minute to second)

According to question, Usha travels from A to B, then back along the same straight path, B to A.
So, the total distance covered by Usha in 1 min = 90 + 90 = 180 m, and
the displacement of Usha in 1 min = 0 m (since she comes back to initial position)

Now, we know that-
$Average\ Speed=\frac{Total\ distance\ travelled}{Total\ time\ taken}$
                            $=\frac{180}{60}$
                            $=3m/s$

$Average\ Velocity=\frac{Displacement}{Time\ taken}$
                                $=\frac{0}{60}$
                                $=0m/s$

Hence, the average speed of Usha is 3 m/s and her average velocity is 0 m/s.
