The vertical angle of an isosceles triangle is 100 degree. Find its base angles.
Given:
The vertical angle of an isosceles triangle is 100 degrees.
To do:
We have to find the measure of the base angles of the triangle.
Solution:
Let the measure of each base angle be $x$.
We know that,
Sum of the angles in a triangle is $180^o$.
Therefore,
$x+x+100^o = 180^o$
$2x = 180^o-100^o$
$2x=80^o$
$x=\frac{80^o}{2}$
$x = 40^o$
Therefore, the measure of each of the base angles is $40^o$.
