The temperature dropped 15 degree celsius in the last 30 days. If the rate of temperature drop remains the same, how many degrees will the temperature drop in the next ten days?

Given:

The temperature has dropped to 15 degrees celsius in the last 30 days.

To do:

We have to find the temperature drop in the next 10 days if the rate of temperature drop remains the same.

Solution:

The temperature drop in the last 30 days $ = 15^oc$

We know that,

The temperature drop for a day can be obtained by dividing the given temperature by the given days.

The temperature drop in 1 day $= \frac{15^oc}{30}$

$=(\frac{1}{2})^oc$

Therefore,

The temperature drop in the next ten days $=(\frac{1}{2})^oc\times10$

$=5^oc$

The temperature drop in the next ten days at the same rate of drop in temperature will be $5^oc$.
