Given: The total amount collected is 2704.

To find: We have to find the number of students who went to trip.

Solution: 

Let the number of students = a

So rupees contributed by each student = a

Now,

(Number of students) x (Rupees contributed by each student) = Total amount collected

a x a = 2704

a² = 2704

a = √2704

a = 52 

So number of students went for the trip = 52
