The profit obtained on selling smartphones ₹2500 per piece and that on selling old mobiles with the keypad is ₹900 per piece. During a month, a shopkeeper obtained a net profit of ₹17900. In this period, he sold 5 android mobiles. How many old mobiles did he sell in that period?
Given :
The profit obtained on selling a smartphone $= ₹2500$
The profit obtained on selling an old mobile with keypad $= ₹ 900$
Number of smartphones sold $= 5$
The profit obtained by the shopkeeper in a month $= ₹ 17900$
To do :
We have to find the number of old mobiles sold.
Solution :
Let the number of old mobiles sold be 'n'.
Therefore,
$₹5 \times 2500 + n \times 900 = ₹ 17900$
$12500 + 900n = 17900$
$900n = 17900-12500$
$900n = 5400$
$n = \frac{5400}{900}$
$n = 6$.
The number of old mobiles sold in the same period is 6.
