The probability that it will rain tomorrow is 0.85. What is the probability that it will not rain tomorrow?
Given:
The probability that it will rain tomorrow is 0.85.
To do:
We have to find the probability that it will not rain tomorrow
Solution:
Let the probability of raining tomorrow be $p(A)$ and the probability of not raining be $p(\overline{A})$
We know that,
$p(E)+p(\overline{E})=1$
Therefore,
$0.85+p(\overline{A})=1$
$p(\overline{A})=1-0.85=0.15$
The probability that it will not rain tomorrow is $0.15$.
