The price of a TV is Rs 13,000. The sales tax charged on it is at the rate of 12% . Find the amount that Vinod will have to pay if he buys it.
Given:
Cost of TV = Rs. 13000
Sales tax charge = 12%
To find: Here we have to find the amount that Vinod will have to pay to buy it.
Solution:
Sales tax charge on TV = 12% of Cost of TV
Sales tax charge on TV = Rs. $\frac{12}{100}\times13000$
Sales tax charge on TV = Rs. 1560
Now,
The amount that Vinod will have to pay = Cost of TV $+$ Sales tax charge on TV
The amount that Vinod will have to pay = Rs. 13000 $+$ 1560
The amount that Vinod will have to pay = Rs 14560
So, Vinod will have to pay Rs. 14560 to buy that TV.
