Given: The population of a village when increased by 15% becomes 19,320.

To do: What is the original population.

Solution:

The population of a village when increased by 15% become 19320.

Let the original population of village be $x$

According to the Question

=>$ x = 19320 - 15% of x$

=>$ x = 19320 - 0.15 \times x$

=> $x = 19320 - 0.15x$

=>$ x + 0.15x = 19320$

=> $1.15x = 19320$

=> $x = \frac{19320}{1.15} = 16800$

Hence, The original population of the village is 16800.
