Perimeter of square = 12 cm

Perimeter of square = 4 $\times $ side

12 = 4 $\times $  side

$\frac{12 }{ 4}$ = side

3 = side

Side of square = 3 cm

Area of square = side $\times $  side

Area of square = 3 $\times $  3

Area of square = 9 sq cm.
