The mean of team A in a cricket match is 37 runs when all the players had the chance to play. What is the total score of the team is ? The mean score of the team B is 28 runs. What is the mean of both the teams taken together?

Given :

The mean score of team A in a cricket match = 37 runs

The mean score of team B = 28 runs

To find :

We have to find the total score of team A and Mean score of both teams.

Solution :

Number of players  in a team = 11

This implies,

The total score of the team A$ = Mean \times Number of players$

                                                      $= 37\times11$

                                                      = 407 runs

The mean score of team B = 28 runs

The total score of team B $= 28\times11$

                                               = 308 runs

The mean of both the teams taken together = $\frac{Total score of both the teams}{Total number of teams}$

$=\frac{407+308}{2}$

$=\frac{715}{2}$

$=357.5$ runs

The total score of the team A is 407 runs

Mean score of both teams is 357.5 runs
