The LC.M. and H.C.F. of two numbers are 720 and 5 respectively. If one of the two numbers is 45 find the other number.

Given :

The LCM and HCF of two numbers are 720 and 5 respectively.

One of the two numbers is 45.

To do :

We have to find the other number.

Solution :

Let the other number be 'a'.

We know that,

Product of two numbers $= HCF \times LCM$

Therefore,

$45 \times a = 720 \times 5$

$a = \frac{(720\times 5)}{45}$

$a = \frac{(720\times 1)}{9}$

$a = 80$.

The other number is 80.
