The fees of a student increases from Rs.1000 per month to Rs. 1200 per month. Find the percentage increase.
Given :
The fees of a student increases from Rs.1000 per month to Rs. 1200 per month.
To find :
We have to find the percentage increase.
Solution :
Initial fees of the student = Rs. 1000 per month.
Final fees of the student = Rs. 1200 per month.
Increase in the fees = Rs. $(1200-1000)$ = Rs. 200.
Percentage increase = $\frac{Increase in fee}{Initial fee}\times 100$%
= $\frac{200}{1000}\times 100$%
= $\frac{200}{10}$% =20%.
The percentage increase is 20%.
