Solution:

Radius of the hemispherical dome $= 63\ dm$

Curved surface area of the dome $=2 \pi r^{2}$

$=2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 63 \times 63$

$=24948 \mathrm{dm}^{2}$

Rate of painting $= Rs.\ 2$ per sq. m

Total cost of painting the dome $=\frac{24948 \times 2}{100}$

$= Rs.\ 249.48 \times 2$

$= Rs.\ 498.96$
