The boundary of a chess bord is 28 m. Find its area.

Given:

The boundary of a chessboard is 28 m.

To do:

We have to find its area.

Solution:

We know that,

A chessboard is in the shape of a square.

Let the side of the given chessboard be $x$.

Therefore,

The boundary of the chessboard$=4x$.

$4x=28\ m$

$x=\frac{28}{4}\ m$

$x=7\ m$
Area of the chessboard$=x^2$

$=(7)^2\ m^2$

$=49\ m^2$

The area of the chessboard is $49\ m^2$.
