The base and corresponding height of a parallelogram are 6 cm and 8 cm respectively. Find the corresponding height if the base is taken as 12 cm.

Given: The base and corresponding height of a parallelogram are 6 cm and 8 cm respectively.

The base of the parallelogram is 12cm.

To do: Find the corresponding height of the parallelogram.

Solution:

We know that area of parallelogram=base$\times$height = b$\times$h

Here,b=10cm and h=12cm

So, area=10$\times$12

              =120$cm^2$

Now, it is the same parallelogram but now h=8cm

 we have to find the area is same=120$cm^2$

area=b$\times$h

120=b$\times$8

b=$\frac{120}{8}$=15cm

Hence,corresponding base will be 15cm.
