The radius of curvature of a concave mirror is 50cm. Where should be an object be placed from the mirror so at to form its image at infinity?
Justify your answer.
Given: The radius of curvature of a concave mirror is 50cm
To find: Where should be an object be placed from the mirror so as to form its image at infinity
Solution:
Here R=50 cm
We know, focal length (f) = $\frac{R}{2}$
focal length (f) = $\frac{50}{2}$ =25 cm
If an object is placed at the focus of a concave mirror, then the image is formed at infinity.
So, the object should be placed 25 cm in front of the mirror.
