The area of a square field is $60025\ m^2$. A man cycle along its boundary at 18 km/hr. In how much time will be return at the starting point.
Given:
The area of a square field is $60025\ m^2$. A man cycle along its boundary at 18 km/hr.
To do:
We have to find the time in which he will return to the starting point.
Solution:
Area of the square field $= 60025\ m^2$
This implies,
Side of the square field $=\sqrt{60025} \mathrm{~m}$
$=245 \mathrm{~m}$
Perimeter of the square $=4 \times 245 \mathrm{~m}$
$=980 \mathrm{~m}$
Speed of the man $=18 \mathrm{~km} / \mathrm{hr}$
$=18000 \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{hr}$
Therefore,
Time taken to return $=\frac{980 \times 1}{18000} \mathrm{hr}$
$=\frac{980 \times 1 \times 60}{18000}$ minutes
$=3 \frac{4}{15}$ minutes
$=3$ minutes 16 seconds
