Biodiversity is a combination of biological and diversity. It is the variety and variability of plant and animal life in the surroundings along with their habitat.
Parks consist of a variety of plant and animal life living together. The communities they form also comes under biodiversity.
Plants such as Banyan tree, Pothos, shoe flower plant, rose plant, sunflower plant, etc. form the biodiversity in the park, along with the presence of animals such as birds, rodents, rabbits, lizards, ants, grasshopper, flies, ants, honey bees, and butterflies.

In short, the word flora refers to all plant life, and the word fauna refers to all animal life. Flora and fauna refer to plants and animals in the broadest sense of the words, encompassing pretty much all life on Earth.
Fauna is all of the animal life present in a particular region or time. The corresponding term for plants is flora. Flora is all of the plant life present in a particular region or time. Flora, fauna, and other forms of life such as fungi are collectively referred to as biota.
We should preserve our flora and fauna because conservation of flora and fauna is important :
1) To maintain biodiversity - this ensures that the variety of plants and animals are maintained in the environment such that no species are lost.
2) To maintain ecological balance - ecological balance is very important because life is supported by this balance.]
