State two important uses of natural gas.

Natural gas is a colourless, odourless, tasteless and highly flammable gaseous hydrocarbon mixture primarily composed of methane and ethane with smaller quantities of other gasses such as propane, butane, pentane, and hexane.

It is an environmentally friendly and efficient energy source, also the cleanest-burning conventional fuel, producing lower levels of greenhouse gas (CO₂) emissions than heavier hydrocarbon fuels such as coal and oil. That's why it is preferably used in thermal power stations, transport vehicles, domestic fuel (for cooking), etc.
