State the function of the 'Incisor Teeth' and 'Premolar Teeth'.
Incisors – Incisors are the four front teeth, present in both the upper and lower jaws. They are characterized by a single root and sharp incisal edge. The main function of incisors is to cut food. The two incisors present on either side of the midline are known as central incisors, while the two adjacent teeth to the central incisors are known as the lateral incisors.
Premolars – The main function of the premolar teeth is to crush the food and are located behind and adjacent to the canines. In total, there are eight premolars in the oral cavity, with two in each quadrant of the mouth, one closest to the midline (first premolar) and another farthest from the midline (second premolar).
