Some articles were bought at 6 for ₹5 and sold at 5 for ₹6. Find the gain percent.

Given :

The cost price of 6 articles $= ₹5$.

The selling price of 5 articles $= ₹6$.

To do :

We have to find the gain percent.

Solution :

The cost price of 6 articles $= ₹5$

The cost price of 1 article $= ₹\frac{5}{6}$

The selling price of 5 articles $= ₹6$

The selling price of 1 article $= ₹ \frac{6}{5}$

Gain % $= \frac{\frac{6}{5} - \frac{5}{6}}{\frac{5}{6}} \times 100$

              $ = \frac{\frac{36-25}{30}}{\frac{5}{6}} \times 100$

             $ = \frac{\frac{11}{30}}{\frac{5}{6}} \times 100$

             $ = \frac{11}{30} \times \frac{6}{5} \times 100$

             $ = \frac{11}{25} \times 100$

            $ = 11 \times 4 = 44$

Therefore, the gain percent is 44%.
