$=\frac{2}{8}-\frac{8}{12}-\frac{4}{6}$

$=\frac{2}{8}-( \frac{8}{12}+\frac{4}{6})$

$=\frac{2}{8}-( \frac{8}{12}+\frac{4\times2}{6\times2})$

$=\frac{2}{8}-( \frac{8}{12}+\frac{8}{12})$

$=\frac{2}{8}-( \frac{8+8}{12})$

$=\frac{2}{8}-\frac{16}{12}$ 

$=\frac{2\times3}{8\times3}-\frac{16\times2}{12\times2}$

$=\frac{6}{24}-\frac{32}{24}$

$=\frac{6-32}{24}$

$=\frac{-26}{24}$

$=-\frac{13\times2}{12\times2}$

$=-\frac{13}{12}$

Thus, $\frac{2}{8}-\frac{8}{12}+( -\frac{4}{6})=-\frac{13}{12}$
