Solve the pair of linear equation: $2x+y=5\ .......\ ( i)$$3x+2y=8\ .......\ ( ii)$

Given: Pair of linear equations: $2x+y=5\ .....\ ( i)$        $3x+2y=8\ .....\ ( ii)$

To do: To solve the given pair of linear equation.

Solution:

$2x+y=5\ .....\ ( i)$

$3x+2y=8\ .....\ ( ii)$

Let us multiply $( i)$ by $2$, it becomes:

$4x+2y=10\ .....\ ( iii)$

On subtracting $( ii)$ from $( iii)$ we have:

$4x+2y-( 3x+2y)=10-8$

$\Rightarrow 4x+2y-3x-2y=2$

$\Rightarrow x=2$, let's put this value in $( i)$

$2( 2)+y=5$

$\Rightarrow 4+y=5$

$\Rightarrow y=5-4$

$\Rightarrow y=1$

Thus, $x=2,\ y=1$
