Solve:

a) $-4(2+x) = 8$
b) $4(2-x) = 8$

Given equations are

a. $-4(2+x)=8$

b. $4(2-x)=8$

To do:

We have to find the values of x,

Solution:

a.

$-4( 2+x) =8$

$-4( 2) -4( x) =8$

$-8-4x=8$

$4x=-8-8$

$4x=-16$

$x=\frac{-16}{4}$

$x=-4$

The value of x is $-4$.

b.

$4( 2-x) =8$

$4( 2) -4( x) =8$

$8-4x=8$

$4x=8-8$

$4x=0$

$x=\frac{0}{4}$

$x=0$

The value of x is 0.
