Soap is packed in boxes, each weighing 15 kg 80g. How many such boxes can be loaded in a truck which cannot carry beyond 4500 kg?
(b) The distance between the school and the house of a student is 1 km 875 m. Every day, she walks both ways between her school and home. Find the total distance covered by her in six days.
Given: Soap is packed in boxes each weighing 15kg80g.
To do: To find how many such boxes can be loaded in a truck which cannot carry beyond 4500 kg .
Solution:
Let the boxes be $x$.
Weight of each soap = 15 kg 800 gram
= 15.8 kg
=> $15.8x = 4500$
=> $x = \frac{4500}{15.8}$
= $x$ is nearly 284
The truck will carry 284 boxes.
