Simplify the following:$5+[x-[2y-(6x+y-4)+2x]-[x-(y-2)]]$

Given :

The given expression is $5+[x-[2y-(6x+y-4)+2x]-[x-(y-2)]]$.

To do :

We have to simplify the given expression.

Solution :

$5+[x-[2y-(6x+y-4)+2x]-[x-(y-2)]] = 5+[x-[2y-6x-y+4+2x]-[x-y+2]]$

                                                          $=  5+[x-[2y-4x+4]-[x-y+2]]$

                                                          $= 5+[x-2y+4x-4-x+y-2]$

                                                          $= 5+[4x-y-6]$

                                                          $= 5+4x-y-6$

                                                          $= 4x-y-1$.

Therefore, the value of $5+[x-[2y-(6x+y-4)+2x]-[x-(y-2)]]$ is $4x-y-1$.
