Simplify:$ 4(x+y)-6(x+y)^{2} $

Given:

\( 4(x+y)-6(x+y)^{2} \)

To do:

We have to simplify \( 4(x+y)-6(x+y)^{2} \).

Solution:

$4(x+y)-6(x+y)^{2}=2(x+y)[2-3(x+y)]$              [Taking $2(x+y)$ common]
 $=2(x+y)(2-3x-3y)$

Hence, $4(x+y)-6(x+y)^{2}=2(x+y)(2-3x-3y)$.
