Show with the help of a sketch that plants are the ultimate source of food.
The food chain demonstrates that plants are the most fundamental component of the food web. Only plants can create food, while all other species are dependent on plants for their survival, either in a direct or indirect way.
Plants are autotrophs, which means they can make their own food by photosynthesis. The photosynthesis reaction requires sunlight, water, and CO2. Plants are non-motile, which means they cannot move and grab these sources. Hence, we take care of plants by providing them with a sufficient amount of sunlight, water, and aeration.
Animals and humans are heterotrophs. They cannot make their own food and rely on plants as a source of food for them. Without plants, animals and humans would begin to starve and eventually die. Hence, it is important to take care of plants.
