We have to find their present ages.

Solution :

Let the age of Shikha be x.

This implies,

The age of Ravish $= x+3$

Therefore,

$x+(x+3) = 37$

$2x+3 =37$

$2x = 37-3$

$2x = 34$

$x=\frac{34}{2}$

$x=17$

Age of Ravish $= 17+3 = 20$ 

The age of Shikha is 17 years and the age of Ravish is 20 years.
