Solution :

Sherin divided one roti into two equal parts and gave one-half roti or $\frac{1}{2}$ roti to her daughter.

The remaining roti with her $= 1 -  \frac{1}{2}$

                                                  $=\frac{2-1}{2}$

                                                  $= \frac{1}{2}$.

The remaining part of roti with her is $\frac{1}{2}$.
