Given:

A picture is $7 \frac{3}{5}$ cm wide  Picture can't be more than $7 \frac{3}{10}$  cm wide
To Do:  To find how much the frame should be trimmed to fi the picture
Answer

The width of the picture = $7 \frac{3}{5}$cm

The width of the frame = $7 \frac{3}{10}$ cm

Trimming needed = $7 \frac{3}{5}$ cm - $7 \frac{3}{10}$ cm
Change the improper fractions to proper fractions

= $ \frac{38}{5}$  - $ \frac{73}{10}$

= $ \frac{76-73}{10}$ cm (LCM of 5 and 10 is 10)

= $\frac{3}{10}$
