Rupees 1000 consists of one-rupee and two-rupee coins in the ratio 4:3. Find the number of 2-rupee coins.
Given :
Rs. 1000 consists of one-rupee and two-rupee coins in the ratio 4:3.
To do :
We have to find the number of 2 rupee coins.
Solution :
Let the number of one-rupee coins be 4x and the number of two-rupee coins be 3x.
Therefore,
$Rs. 4x(1) + Rs. 3x(2) = Rs. 1000$
$4x+6x = 1000$
$10x = 1000$
$x = \frac{1000}{10}$
$x = 100$
The number of one-rupee coins $= 4(100) = 400$.
The number of two-rupee coins $= 3(100) = 300$.
Therefore, the number of 2 rupee coins is 300.
