# Ratio between the sides of two squares is 2: 5: find the ratio between their perimeter and area

GIven: Ratio between the sides of two squares is 2: 5

To find: Ratio between their perimeter and area

Solution:

Let the side of the first square = 2a

And, side of the second square = 5a

Perimeter = 4$ \times $ side

So Perimeter 1 = 4$ \times $2a = 8a

Perimeter 2 = 4$ \times $5a = 20a

**Ratio of perimeter = 8a $\div$ 20a**

**= 2:5**

Area of square = a$ \times $a

Area 1 = (2a)$ \times $(2a) = 4a

^{2}Area 2 = (5a)$ \times $(5a) = 25a

^{2}Ratio of area = 4a

^{2}$\div$ 25a^{2}= 4:25
