On selling a Mobile for rs750 a shopkeeper looses 10% for what amount should he sell it to gain 5%.
Given: SP= ₹750
Loss= 10%
To do: Find at what amount the seller should sell to gain 5%.
Solution:
CP, we can use the formula
CP = $\frac{100}{100-L \%\ } \times SP$
= $\frac{100}{100}-10 \times750$
= $\frac{100}{90} \times750$
= ₹833.34
Now, we need to find new SP for which Gain= 5%
SP= $\frac{100+G\%\ }{100} \times CP$
= $\frac{100+5}{100} \times833$
=$\frac{105}{100}\times833$
= ₹875
So he should sell for Rs. 875
