Naveen bought $ 3 \mathrm{~m} 20 \mathrm{~cm} $ cloth for his shirt and $ 2 \mathrm{~m} 5 \mathrm{~cm} $ cloth for his trousers. Find the total length of cloth bought by him.(a) $ 5.7 \mathrm{~m} $
(b) $ 5.25 \mathrm{~m} $
(c) $ 4.25 \mathrm{~m} $
(d) $ 5.00 \mathrm{~m} $
Given:
Naveen bought $3\ m\ 20\ cm$ cloth for his shirt and $2\ m\ 5 \ cm$ cloth for his trousers.
To do:
We have to find the total length of cloth bought by him.
Solution:
Length of cloth for shirt$=3\ m\ 20\ cm$.
Length of cloth for trousers$=2\ m\ 5\ cm$.
Total length of cloth $=3\ m\ 20\ cm + 2\ m\ 5\ cm$
$=(3+2)\ m\ (20+5)\ cm$
$=5\ m\ 25\ cm$
$=(5+0.25)\ m$
$=5.25\ m$
The total length of cloth bought by Naveen is $5.25\ m$.
