Name two foods each rich in:
(a) Fats
(b) Starch
(c) Dietary fibre
(d) Protein

(a) Fats: Foods like peanut butter, fish, cheese, and flaxseed oils, are fat-rich food.

(b) Starch: Starch-containing food is potatoes, rice, corn, grains, peas, etc.

(c) Dietary fiber: Food such as whole grains, carrots, citrus fruits, cereals, etc. are rich in dietary fiber.

(d) Protein: Milk, tofu, yogurt, and egg albumin, are rich in protein.

In general, nutrients can be divided into two categories, which are:

macronutrients - carbs, protein, fats; and

micronutrients - vitamins and minerals such as calcium, iron, and vitamin C.

Most of the nutrients in our meals are macronutrients, which give us the energy we need to move and perform daily tasks. On the other hand, micronutrients are chemical compounds that we need in trace amounts for normal development and growth.

Many foods nowadays are nutrient-poor, which means they lack the essential nutrients your body needs to function. Instead, the food lacks nourishment and is packed with more energy (kilojoules). The food will give your body extra energy in the form of kilojoules, but it will be deficient in other vital nutrients that your body requires to function.
