Name the different types of solutions. Give one example of each.
The five types of solutions are given below:
- Solution of a solid in a solid.
Example: Brass is a solution of zinc and copper.
- Solution of a solid in a liquid.
Examples: Salt solution and sugar solution
- Solution of a liquid in a liquid.
Example: Vinegar is a solution of acetic acid in water.
- Solution of a gas in a liquid.
Example: Soda water is a solution of carbon dioxide gas in water.
- Solution of a gas in a gas.
Example: Air is a solution of different gases (oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, argon, etc.).
