Mitesh, Mihir, Siddharth and Prashant paid a bill of restaurant unequally. The ratio of amount paid by Mitesh to Mihir is 7:8. Siddharth paid half the amount Mihir paid and Prashant paid half the amount Siddharth paid. If the bill amount is Rs. 2100, find the amount paid by each.
Given:
The ratio of amount paid by Mitesh to Mihir is 7:8 Siddharth paid half the amount Mihir paid and Prashant paid half the amount Siddharth paid.
Total bill amount$=$Rs. 2100
To do:
We have to find the amount paid by each person.
Solution:
Let the amount paid by Mitesh and Mihir be $7x$ and $8x$ respectively.
This implies,
Amount paid by Sidhharth$= \frac{8x}{2}=4x$
Amount paid by Prashant $=\frac{4x}{2}=2x$
Therefore,
$7x+8x+4x+2x= 2100$
$21x= 2100$
$x= \frac{2100}{21}$
$x= 100$
The amount paid by Mitesh$=7x=7(100)=Rs. 700$.
The amount paid by Mihir$=8x=8(100)=Rs. 800$.
The amount paid by Siddharth$=4x=4(100)=Rs. 400$.
The amount paid by Prashant$=2x=2(100)=Rs. 200$.
