Make the following conversions A. 140 degree Fahrenheit into degree celsius B. 303 k into degree Celsius

Make the following conversions

A. 140 degree Fahrenheit into degree celsius

B. 303 k into degree Celsius

Solution:

A).

Formula to convert Fahrenheit temperature F into celsius temperature

$C = \frac{5}{9} \times (F - 32)$

140 F :

$\frac{5}{9} \times(140 - 32) = \frac{5}{9} \times(108)= 60^{\circ} C$

So $140^{\circ} F = 60^{\circ} C$

B).    Formula to convert temperature in kelvin to temperature in celsius.

(K - 273) = C

So 303 K = (303 - 273) C = 30 C

So $303 \ Kelvin = 30^{\circ}C$
