List any four disadvantages of using fossil fuels for the production of energy.
Disadvantages of using fossil fuel for the production of energy are:
1. Burning fossil fuels produces acidic gases such as sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxide, which cause acid rain.
2. It also produces large amounts of CO2, which increases the greenhouse effect and results in global warming.
3. It produces smoke and leaves a lot of ashes behind, which cause air pollution.
4. As fossil fuel is a non-renewable source of energy, its waste or extensive usage can lead to its exhaustion in the near future.
